Europe nearly destroyed itself in its civil war, and for half a century it struggled back to its feet. Now America leads the world, but in Europe they know how to live. I wonder whether in another fifty years we will be jealous of European community instead of American wealth.
But American is remains special for having lost its diverse nations and languages. Europe is awash in them, but while different languages give rise to different ideas, they are also a barrier to ideas and to commerce.
